Clean with casual dining. Reasonable prices. Excellent gold margarita. The food came out hot and well prepared. Your chocolate cake was very rich and had a death by chocolate vibe. My server Paul was attentive and helpful.
Food, service and atmosphere are always excellent. The chef at this location always amazing with his board specials. This is our go to seafood restaurant. Never disappointed!!
This week we returned to Half Shells oyster to enjoy one of their daily specials, the pecan crusted flounder with potatoes and fresh green beans. They're entrées never disappoint. They are always delightful and well prepared and seasoned. I was disappointed that their frozen margarita machine was not working, but I found their margarita on the rocks to have a rich lime flavor, and not too sweet. Today they are offering a special on their clam chowder for national clam chowder day. $2.00 cups of clam chowder to kick off your main entrée. Such a deal! The warmer weather has returned and there were actually folks out on the patio enjoying the nicer weather. The restaurant is an awesome venue and a great place to hang with friends.
So good!!! Great food, fantastic service. Trina was our server and was so friendly -- she answered all our questions about the menu and made us feel so welcome. She elevated our experience to the fullest! 10/10
My wife and I both had the Cobb Salad. Mine with salmon and hers with shrimp. They both were as good as it gets. Salmon was tender and moist. Her shrimp was cooked perfectly. The service was even better than the food.
A recent visit to Plano for a girl's weekend wrapped up with a wonderful lunch experience at Half Shells. This was probably one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. We were there at the end of lunch time, and the street was closed off in preparation for a holiday event with stalls all along the street. It seemed that the crowds were somewhat limited, I think because of the early hour and the limited ability to get down the street. But this resulted in a perfect experience for us! We sat outside, and our server was Jean. Jean, you are probably one of the best servers I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. I felt treated in such a way that I haven't experienced many other places. My friend and I were considering which oysters to order (I'd never had, and my friend only a few times), and so Jean brought us each one of the mermaid oysters to try. I discovered how much I actually enjoy the oyster experience! Jean also provided us with samples of the soups (I went with gumbo)... and then I had Shrimp and Grits for a main. Honestly it was so much food (and a dessert too), that I can't believe I ate so much, but it was soo good. And the whole experience including drinks, food, dessert, OYSTERS, and Jean as a server was impeccable! I would definitely come back to this location - and hope it's sooner rather than later being a New Yorker. Definitely check this place out for a high quality dining experience!
Please order their stuffed flounder! It was absolutely amazing!! we also ordered the peel and eat shrimp.
